PigSAFE

PigSAFE is the new name for the CQA program, the food safety component of the Canadian Pork Excellence platform. Based on the same Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) model used in the CQA program, it also retains biosecurity elements developed by the Canadian Swine Health Board in 2011.

The program has been developed by producer-led committees, reviewed by expert validators and tested on 73 farm across Canada. PigSAFE will be launched in 2019.
