Dr. Betty Althouse awarded the Saskatchewan Premier’s Award for Excellence in the Public Service

November 15, 2017 – OTTAWA The Canadian Pork Council was pleased to learn that Dr. Betty Althouse, Chief Veterinary Officer with the Ministry of Agriculture was one of the six recipients of the Premier’s Award for Excellence in the Public Service announced by the government of Saskatchewan earlier today.

“Dr. Althouse has always been a strong advocate for animal health and is a tremendous resource for veterinarians and farmers alike,” said John Ross, Executive Director with the Canadian Pork Council. “The province of Saskatchewan is very lucky to be able to count on her incredible experience and knowledge,” he adds.

The Canadian Pork Council is the national voice for hog producers in Canada. A federation of nine provincial pork industry associations representing 7,000 farms, the organization plays a leadership role in achieving and maintaining a dynamic and prosperous Canadian pork sector.
